Lizotte Clinical, LLC — Adolescent, Family & Court-Involved Therapy

For Teens & Young Adults

Outpatient

Thinking about reaching out on your own? That takes courage. Here are answers to the questions I hear most from people referring themselves, so you know what to expect before you make contact.

Getting Started

Welcome & Overview

Outpatient care is structured, goal-focused therapy for youth ages 12 through young adulthood and their families. At Lizotte Clinical, LLC, outpatient services include Individual & Family Outpatient Therapy and Substance Use Counseling, offered by telehealth. Every session works toward a specific goal, so you always know what we're working on and why.

My Approach

Knowing What You're Working On

The most common complaint I've heard from youth and parents during my time working in community-based services is, “I don't know what I am working on with my outpatient counselor.” I'd like to help you change that experience.

  • Therapy as Problem-Solving

I'd like you to look at therapy as more of a problem-solving service than someone you come to talk to once a week. We work on something specific, and you leave knowing what that is. You will receive homework and we will review it on your next visit.

  • Honesty Makes It Easier

The more honest you can be with yourself, the easier it becomes to solve problems. There's no judgment here, just a clearer path forward.

  • You Get Out What You Put In

A great working relationship matters, but the real value comes from the energy you put into it. This is a partnership, and your effort drives the results.

  • I'll Help You Find Your Strength

If you need help finding that strength to put in the work, I'll help you find it. You don't have to have it all figured out before you reach out.

The Work Between Sessions

Homework That Builds Independence

Therapy involves homework you complete between our sessions. The point isn't to give you more to do, it's to build real skills you can carry with you long after we stop meeting.

  • Practical, Not Mundane

I'll regularly assign homework you complete between sessions. It's practical and purposeful, never busywork. I want it to make sense and actually provide value to you.

  • Work That Makes Sense

The assignments connect directly to what we're working on together. You'll understand why you're doing them and how they move you toward what you want.

  • Tools to Do It on Your Own

My goal is to help you reach a place you'd like to be, with the tools to eventually keep doing this completely on your own.

Confidentiality

Will What I Say Stay Private?

What you share with me is kept private. Building trust starts with knowing your words are safe, and that you stay in control of who else is ever part of the conversation.

  • Your Words Are Kept Private

What you tell me stays between us. There are a few narrow legal exceptions I'll explain up front, but privacy is the foundation of the work we do together.

  • You Stay in Control

If you give me permission to speak with certain people or providers, I'll always talk with you before I make contact. Nothing happens behind your back.

  • Withholding Mandated Reports

I will not withhold information that I am required to report as a mandated reporter. This includes DHHS reportable events or an imminent risk of harm to self and others that requires law enforcement intervention.
